Two Russian submarines and a worship dock into Colombo port for services today.

Navy pacific fleet ships comprising corvette “Gremyshchiy”, large submarine “B-603” and “B-274” has arrived at the port of Colombo today for a two-day visit.

These two boats B-603 “Volkov” and the B-274 “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky” were laid down at Admiralty Shipyard on July 28, 2017.

According to the reports, there are 62 submarines for the Russian Navy.

According to Militarymedia.net, This Vashavyanka Class, better known as the “Kilo Class Next Generation”. That is because the diesel-electric submarine’s design is a refinement of the Kilo Class.

And also they planned to receive six of these improved Project 636.3 Kilo Class units and strengthen the presence for the Pacific Fleet by 2025.

Admiralty Shipyard is the birthplace of both B-603 Volkhov and the B-274 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

These Russian submarines weigh 4,000 tonnes and are capable of travelling at a speed of 20 knots. And also has the ability to dive to a depth of 300 meters.

However, these submarines can sail continuously for 45 days for 12,000km!

Not to mention, These submarines include 52 personnel with heavy torpedoes and Kalibr anti-ship missiles (3M-54 and 3M-541) to attack surface targets.
